Companies House is an Executive Agency of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. Our role is to incorporate and dissolve limited companies, examine and store company information delivered under the Companies Act; and make this information available to the public. We aim to satisfy regulatory obligations and needs efficiently and economically and with quality service.
There are more than 2.2 million companies registered at Companies House. We incorporate more than 300,000 new companies each year and receive over 5 million company documents.
We employ over 1,000 people, most of which are based at our main office in Cardiff. We also have offices in Edinburgh and London.
