time is running out - accounts filing deadline 30 September 2014

Over 250,000 registered companies must file their accounts no later than Tuesday 30 September 2014. If you are one of them, don't leave it to the last minute and risk a penalty - file early and file online.

Don't delay - file online today

File your accounts online before the deadline and enjoy the peace of mind that they have been received and registered. Our WebFiling service will send you an email confirming their receipt and another confirming their registration

Filing accounts online can take as little as 15 minutes from start to finish, so why bother with paper, envelopes, covering letters and the added uncertainty over whether the accounts will be delivered on time.

Even though filing accounts online may be quicker and easier, don't leave it to the last minute.

File online - avoid rejections

File your accounts online and avoid rejections using in-built checks to be sure your accounts meet requirements.

Submitted accounts may require manual checks that are only carried out during office hours. It could be too late to avoid a penalty if your accounts are rejected and need re-submitting. File online well in advance of the deadline to allow plenty of time to deal with a rejection should it occur.

Have you got your authentication code? Order yours today The code is sent by post and can take 5 days to arrive. Don't wait until it's too late.

Online services availability

Our online services are available 24/7, but check that your company is registered for WebFiling and the accounts you wish to file are enabled on the service. You will need a company authentication code to file online, so please allow time for its delivery by post to the company's registered office address.

Online filing of accounts is not yet available for:

  • small companies who wish to file abbreviated accounts with a special audit report
  • medium sized companies taking disclosure exemptions
  • Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs)
  • Community Interest Companies (CICs)
  • Companies preparing IFRS accounts

Filing paper accounts early

Paper filed accounts require manual checks that are only carried out during office hours. Paper accounts are not deemed filed until received in an acceptable form.

If accounts submitted close to the deadline are rejected for amendment, there may be insufficient time to amend and return them. A penalty will still be incurred if resubmitted accounts are received after the deadline. File early and allow time for this.

Only our Cardiff office is manned for the receipt of documents. Letterbox facilities exist in London ** and Edinburgh, but not in Belfast.

Accounts must be delivered in an acceptable form, on or before their due date. Delays in transit will not be accepted as an excuse for late filing. Even if accounts are delivered a day late, a penalty will be levied.

** Our London Office has moved from Bloomsbury Street and there are no mail forwarding facilities.
