WebFiling ‘Sign in’ and ‘Registration’ Changes
Why has Companies House sent an email to all WebFiling customers?
This is to confirm that Companies House has recently sent out an email to all WebFiling customers to ensure they are kept up to date with planned changes.
We also wanted to inform our customers that further information is available from our website on the improved WebFiling registration process, which is soon to be implemented on our WebFiling service.
The security code would originally have been sent to you as an email, and has always been sent this way. This code only provides confirmation of your email address and does not provide access to any company information.
Company information is accessed via a company authentication code, which is only sent by post to the company's registered office address.
When the new screens are implemented on WebFiling you will need both your email address and security code to initially log in.
Why are you changing the WebFiling sign in and registration process?
These changes are being made to simplify and improve the sign in and registration process, and to increase online protection in response to customer feedback comments and suggestions.
We will improve the service by:
Subject to successful testing, these new screens are due for implementation later this month.

The ‘Sign In and Registration’ page will enable existing presenters to sign in, and new customers to register.
Enter email and security code.
Sign In – Choose your company
We have enhanced the ‘Main Menu’. This page will display the company number and company name, and we have added two additional options:
‘File for a different company’ and ‘My account details’.
What is the ‘My account details’ page?
The ‘My account details’ page will enable presenters to change their email address, security code and to amend their registration details for the ‘Latest News and Updates’ service. Presenters were unable to amend these details on the previous system. The presenters ‘existing’ security code must be entered to submit any changes on this page.
