Product and Services Price List - February 2005 to September 2009

Companies House Fees

On 5 November 2004 Parliament approved new fees for Companies House registration and information services, which took effect from 1 February 2005.

Many fees were held at previous levels or substantially reduced. Most notably where information is accessed electronically some fees were reduced by 50% or more. A simpler pricing structure was also introduced. These changes in fees were designed to increase income overall to meet the increased costs to Companies House of maintaining a larger Companies Register (currently just over 2.5 million “live” companies).

The main increase was to the fee that companies must send in with their annual return form. This rose from £15 to £30. However, the £15 fee was retained in cases where annual returns are filed electronically because electronic filings cost less to process than labour-intensive paper filings.

There was also an increase to the fee for registering a charge. This rose from £10 to £13.

Fees for Limited Liability Partnerships were reduced to bring them into line with the equivalent fees for companies. Fees for European Economic Interest Groupings were also changed in line with the fees for companies.
